Death summons days before retirement; Malayalee Jawan Aneesh's funeral to be held today

Idukki : The funeral service of the Malayalee Jawan Aneesh Joseph, who died in a fire accident on December 13th, will be held today at 5.30 pm at St. Sebastian's Church Cemetery, Snehagiri, Idukki

BSF Jawan Aneesh was killed while trying to escape from a fire that devoured a tent. The accident took place on Monday night while he was on duty near Baramulla on the Kashmir border.

The kerosene heater used to maintain the temperature exploded and the ensuing fire engulfed the tent. Aneesh fell into a gorge that was 15 feet deep while trying to escape the fire. He sustained serious head injuries due to the fall. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

Aneesh always wanted to join the army and serve his country since childhood. At the age of twenty-seven, his dream came true, when he acquired a military job. He was due to retire at the end of this month and return home. He recently renovated his house in Kochukamakshi. He had last visited his family in October.
