The Malayala Manorama (മലയാള മനോരമ) is a daily news paper, in Malayalam language, published in the state of Kerala, India. It has a circulation of over 2.4 million copies daily and a readership of 20 million making it the 14th most circulated newspaper in the world, the 3rd largest circulated newspaper in India and the most circulated in Kerala. Based in Kottayam, Kerala, it is the second oldest Malayalam newspaper still in circulation, after Deepika.
The first issue was published as a weekly on 14 March 1890 by the founder Mr. Kandathil Varghese Mappillai. The newspaper belongs to the Malayala Manorama Company Limited, owned by the descendants, and extended family of Kandathil Varghese Mappillai. People from all sections of the society in Kerala are related with Malayala Manorama in a huge volume, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, region, politics, etc. The official copy shown here was handed over to limited participants of the newspapers anniversary event.
