Centre launches India's first Covid vaccine for animals 'Anocovax'

New Delhi: Central government has launched the nation's first Covid vaccine called 'Anocovax' for animals. 

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has officially launched the vaccine. Anocovax is effective against Covid's Delta as well as Omicron variants. This was stated in a press release by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The vaccine contains inactivated delta virus antigen.

Anocovax was developed by Haryana-based Indian Council of Agricultural Research-National Research Centre on Equines. It is effective in dogs, leopards, lions and rabbits, as per the press release.
